"Its going to be a little difficult to try to put words
the life changing experience known as Centering Practices.
At first I was reluctant, skeptical even. Stretching my mouth like a
cat and letting sounds roll from my tongue just seemed
like something I was supposed to give up long ago, but
your calm demeanor every week eventually won the
battle against my ego. Your ability to be both serious
about your practice while retaining a playful spirit
showed me that centering practice (whatever it's form)
is valid. And thus I eventually gave in, leaned in to
it, perhaps harder than my body would've liked but
this made me stronger. Not just in the physical sense
but in ways that I will never fully understand. I can
feel that I am a new person. As a trauma survivor I
find trusting very difficult, but I can tell that over
the course of the year my ability to trust has
expanded drastically. I am finding it easier and
easier to say yes! (and take risks). I am finding
myself more and more active because your class helped
me tackle myths about my body's capability, as well as,
overcome the self consciousness that caused me to believe those
myths. Above everything else I found it really
fun, specifically viewpoints (which is what I
initially was most skeptical about)."

"Krista DeNio gave me the most important tools an artist needs to succeed - a practical method of Centering Mind and Body and access to my natural physical/emotional resources; both of which are integral for any authentic and living art to be created."

"Your teachings helped me to find a home within my body for the first time. The rituals that I've created when warming up and used within my rehearsals have been centered around your class. Also, I honestly did not know how to identify an action based on impulse before learning about viewpoints, or to trust myself to have impulses for that matter. I feel the freedom to explore that has come with using viewpoints has been more revealing and at times more intense than any work I've ever done in an acting class. Your class pushed me to fully engage my body and mind and I saw myself taking risks onstage that I didn't know were possible. This new awareness of self in body and mind was perhaps one of the most valuable things I learned in my BA - thank you."
